Senior Accounting and Finance consultant (Controller)

As Senior Accounting and Finance consultant (controller) you will direct the company’s day to day activities for accounting, financial reporting, treasury and cash management, accounts payable, internal controls and processes, payroll administration, and tax compliance. You will also be responsible for internal and external client analyses to identify and resolve accounting and finance problems, developing a team of accounting consultants to satisfy Sealy Dewberry’s goals.

Essential Functions of Position:

• Manages the activities of the Accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and management reports, and annual audits and support of budgeting/planning initiatives.
• Oversees the Accounts Payable department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, employee expense reports, treasury management and cash forecasting.
• Establishes, maintains and enhances systems, processes and controls, which support the integrity and efficiency of transaction processing and reporting.
• Supports the establishment and oversees maintenance of accounting principles and account reconciliation procedures.
• Supervises the administration of outsourced payroll, benefits and related activities.
• Manages the Company’s sales tax and income tax planning and compliance activities.

Qualifications:

• CPA with a Master’s degree in accounting.
• 5 years management experience within a financial environment.
• 5 years experience in Accounts Payable, general accounting, financial reporting, and GAAP compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and/or Access.
• Must have strong organizational, motivational, and communication skills.
• Must be able to relate effectively with all levels of management within the organization.

Must be a hands on, detail oriented team player, who is able to implement controls and procedures.
